Question, Persuade, Refer – A Suicide Prevention Program (First Christian Church of Mableton)

First Christian Church of Mableton is proud to host this program free of charge to the community. Suicide continues to be a dilemma for our community with Georgia ranking 12th in the nation for death by suicide. Prior to the pandemic, suicide rates were rising at an alarming rate (24% increase from 1999 to 2014). Since COVID19, rates have increased, with some areas seeing triple the amount of suicides compared to this time last year. The QPR Institute offers an evidence-based suicide prevention course that strives to educate the public in order to help save lives. The primary objectives are to train participants to understand the nature and range of suicidal communications and how to intervene on behalf of suicidal and in-crisis people. Click here to register.
