Cross Sector Collaboration

Carlos Garcia, Hispanic Outreach Coordinator for the Cobb county Sheriff’s Office and Irene Barton were introduced last week. The discussion led to the importance of cross sector collaboration to ensure the safety of all community members.

Irene introduced Garcia to Migdalia Rivera at Ser Familia, a Collaborative member that works to strengthen partnerships and create pathways to mutual understanding and acceptance between the Latinx community and law enforcement.

This connection was a perfect example of cross sector collaboration: multiple organizations with varying goals coming together for the good of their community. The Cobb Collaborative is happy to have a hand in connections like these, and works hard every day to ensure our community is cared for in the most holistic way possible.
