Cobb Collaborative Events: Week of March 14, 2022
Here is a look at upcoming events with Cobb Collaborative this week.
Tuesday, March 15
8:00-9:00AM: Cobb Marietta Early Learning Initiative – The Cobb Marietta Early Learning Initiative seeks to be a resource for parents and caregivers of children from birth through kindergarten and connect service providers who work in this space by sharing programming information, best practices, ideas, and more.
Specifically, this group focuses on improving language, nutrition, and identifying local resources that encourage children’s healthy development and overall family well-being. In March, we are delighted to welcome Stefanie Stark, Director of Peachcare for Kids to our meeting as we work together to address uninsured children in our community.
Join us to learn more about resources in Cobb County that are available to empower caregivers and supporters of children. Click here to register for March 15, 2022 meeting.
2:00-3:30PM: Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® – The purpose of this Workshop is to equip the community affected by COVID-19 to recognize and respond to crisis situations and mental health conditions. In addition, attendees will be empowered to manage their own mental health through self-care as they deal with the systemic stressors of their environments. Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® is designed to help individuals understand the biology of traumatic stress reactions and learn specific skills to return the body, mind and spirit back to balance after experiencing traumatic events. These skills can awaken the hope that has, for some, been lost after natural and human-made disasters.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED FOR THIS EVENT, YOU NEED TO RE-REGISTER. The previous Zoom link will not work, please register for this session. Click here for registration.
Wednesday, March 16
9:00-11:00AM: Veterans Strategy Team – 1Q Meeting – We don’t want to leave any person behind, so that’s why it is critical to convene to discuss and learn from each other about services and programs in Cobb County as well as identify service gaps. Our 40,000+ veterans are too important to the vibrancy of our community and deserve the very best.
The VST is working to determine the best way to help struggling veterans get connected with the service agencies that can best help them. One of the important parts of accomplishing this is to get to know all of the agencies (government, non-profit, business, churches…) that offer help to veterans. On March 16th, we will be sharing our strategy to accomplish that with you.
We will have registration, networking and light refreshments from 8:30-9:00AM and then start our conversation at 9:00AM. Our featured organizations are The Warrior Alliance and American Legion Post 160. Finally, you will have the opportunity to announce your upcoming events to the other attendees. Our first quarter meeting will be held at American Legion Post 160 in Smyrna.
Every voice is important, so please plan to join us & invite a friend! Click here for registration and email Irene Barton with any questions.
