Please join us for a half-day mental health symposium focused on making Cobb a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive community.

This half-day symposium focuses on our trauma-informed work in Cobb and emphasizes the importance of this work in building thriving communities. We will share information about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and why intervention is critical.
Come join us to learn, share best practices, and help to build a more resilient Cobb community.
Highlights of the program:

In partnership with the Georgia State University Child Welfare Training Collaborative, we are pleased to present Differences are Good! An Exploration of Cultural Competence.
This course lays a foundation for exploring biases and stereotypes and the importance of moving beyond them when working with clients and colleagues. Through dialogue and activity participants will analyze their own perceptions and how they can work better with others.
At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Understand the value of diversity
- Analyze their personal perceptions regarding differences
- Be able to behave in ways which value differences
- Use strategies to work more effectively with those who are in the minority
Three CEU hours are provided for the following: MSW (core), LPC and LMFT (related), DECAL/BFTS, FVIP, POST, Babies Can’t Wait Project SCEIs in Area I | Children and Families – Birth to 8 CEUs, and Nursing.
