Building Resilience: A Cornerstone of Mental Wellness & Resiliency Week 2025 Details
Resilience is the ability to adapt and recover in the face of adversity, challenges, or change. It’s not about avoiding difficulties but learning how to navigate through them while maintaining a sense of balance and well-being. Often described as a skill, resilience can be nurtured and strengthened over time, empowering individuals to face life’s inevitable ups and downs with greater confidence and clarity.
Why is resilience so important for mental health? Because life is unpredictable. Stress, loss, and uncertainty can take a toll on even the strongest individuals, but resilience acts as a protective shield. It helps mitigate the effects of stress, reduces the risk of mental health challenges like anxiety or depression, and fosters a sense of hope. In essence, resilience doesn’t just help people survive—it enables them to thrive.
During our upcoming Resiliency Week, we’re excited to host a series of events throughout the week designed to foster wellness and build resilience across all ages. From a rejuvenating wellness walk to an inspiring summit, a reflective journaling workshop, and a restorative retreat, each activity is crafted to encourage growth, connection, and self-discovery. Keep reading for more details of each event.
By investing in resilience, we invest in our mental health and our future. Whether it’s through mindful journaling, physical activity, or connecting with others who understand our journey, resilience reminds us that even in our most challenging moments, we have the capacity to rise, rebuild, and reclaim our joy.
Monday
AM: Partner Breakfast (by invitation only)
Kicking off the week will be our by-invitation-only Partner Breakfast. We’re so grateful to have so many wonderful partners all around Cobb and can’t wait to show our appreciation through intentional time together.
PM: Verbal Intervention Training
Verbal Intervention (VI) Training is a condensed 3-hour program designed to prepare you to effectively identify, respond to, and prevent low-risk crisis behavior using non-restrictive intervention techniques. This focused training provides essential skills in de-escalation and communication, enabling your team to manage challenging situations safely and effectively without the need for physical intervention. The streamlined format ensures that you can quickly gain the necessary knowledge to maintain a supportive and secure environment.
This event is for any partner or community member who would benefit from becoming trained in verbal intervention/crisis communication.
