Michael McNeely

Member-At-Large

Michael McNeely has spent three decades as a public safety professional. He began as a military and
civilian police officer and was a Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council member. He
has maintained his certifications as an officer and a senior training instructor.
Michael is an Assistant Deputy Commissioner with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
With over 3,400 employees, the agency serves justice-involved youth at 25 facilities and 78
community services offices across the state.
Michael is also a community engagement leader. He is the Chairman of the Cobb SPLOST
Oversight Committee, Vice-Chair of the Cobb Board of Education Oversight Committee, a
member of the Board of Directors of the Mableton Improvement Coalition, and Co-Founder of
Mableton Men Vote. His Leadership Cobb class awarded him the Wyman Pilcher Grant Award for
service to the community.
Michael McNeely earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University
and is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
