2020 Census’ long term impact on your children
The Census is a little over a month a way, with mail coming to your door in just a couple of weeks!
March 12 – 20: Households will begin receiving official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail. – Census Bureau
This mail will provide detailed instructions of who you are suppose to include in your Census count form. One of the most important but often overlooked demographics of the hard to count population is children.
Why should you count your children?
By counting all of your children in the 2020 Census (including children under the age of 5) this will ensure:
- Funding for the public schools your children attend
- Funding for public transportation such as school buses
- Funding for programs such as SNAP, WIC, EBT, and other various programs
