Celebrate Life International - Teach One to Lead One (T1L1)
The Teach One to Lead One® (T1L1) philosophy will be used to develop character and leadership skills of young people in Cobb County. The T1L1 program includes materials and personnel that equip young people to build lives of integrity, create positive relationships, stand strong in healthy habits and to multiply their influence among their peers. This international program includes mentoring, powerful training aids, practical materials, exciting presentations and hands-on activities. The delivery of T1L1 is comprised of several components as described below: Curriculum – Students will receive weekly instruction in the classroom as specified in the T1L1 curriculum. The program emphasizes principle-based living to the students and it challenges them to adopt that philosophy in their lives. The T1L1 Facilitator will introduce concepts and provide students with application opportunities for those concepts through stories, group activities, role-playing, etc. Each weekly session is designed to help the student visualize how to implement the principles in their life and how to influence others.

Omosaze, Incoporated - Reading Saturday
Since 1999, Omosaze has helped hundereds of Cobb County youth experience the wonder of learning, the pride of achievement, and the excitement of unlimited possibilities. We do this by partnering with schools and other community organizations to provide exceptional reading instruction to struggling elementary students outside of regular school hours. Currently, Omosaze partners with 7 local elementary schools in Cobb County with over 200 students attending Reading Saturday. Reading Saturday is taught by certified teachers in a small group format and supported by volunteer reading mentors. The program takes advantage of under-utilized time on Saturday to give parents and educators a quality, cost-effective option to help address reading deficiencies. Omosaze also offers weekday, after-school reading workshops designed to take advantage of extended day learning time available to students. Each workshop runs a few weeks and is focused on selected grade-level specific Georgia Performance Standards. These workshops can be operated independently or adapted for integration within existing after-school programs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta/Cobb Cluster - Afterschool Program
Programs Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta offers young people a range of fun and productive activities. Clubs are open each day after school from 2 to 8 p.m. Research has shown that during this time of day, children are most vulnerable to gangs, violence and other risky behaviors. We promise our kids that when they get out of school, our doors will be open to them, our staff will be there to guide them and our clubs will be filled with activities and programs dedicated to helping them develop positively. During the summer, Clubs and special summer-only sites open their doors all day to young people who may have nowhere else to go. A trained, caring staff implements proven youth development strategies and creates a stable, supportive and promising environment for children and teens ages six to 18. BGCMA knows with an education, good health and job skills, our Club members can accomplish their dreams. The Clubs provide diverse activities, that we call Core Programs, to meet the interests of all youth. These programs engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members, enable them to develop self-esteem and provide them a solid platform to reach their full potential. The Core Programs developed and implemented in our Clubs are based on the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs and interests of the youth served. Six Core Program Areas: Character and Leadership Development Education and Career Development Health and Life Skills Arts & Cultural Enrichment Sports, Fitness and Recreation Outdoor Education

Xposure Youth Foundation, Inc - Girls Geared For Success Program
This life skills development program provides a safe place for teenage girls to learn important concepts including conflict resolution, self-esteem, etiquette, cultural awareness and health education. This program is geared toward young women who will flourish in a nurturing, loving, positive environment, one facilitated by energetic, professional women from various backgrounds. By exposing the young women to various cultural events they may discover talents they never knew existed inside of them. Our hope is that they come away from the program with an appreciation for the arts and a love for themselves that may not have existed before. Field trips will reinforce topics learned and show the girls that the world offers opportunities and benefits outside of their neighborhoods.
